Overview
This wonderful adventure will take you to three completely different, yet equally fascinating areas…the African bush, a world-class historic port city, and one of the worlds most famous wine regions!
Let’s start with the safari…
A safari is truly a transformational experience. For those that have never seen Africa’s wildlife close up, in their natural habitat, at eye level…or met the people who have lived here for countless millennia, the experiences will be nothing short of astounding, and will give you memories that you will carry for a lifetime. Join us as we explore the exotic wilderness of South Africa for 3 days at Chisomo Safari Camp, tucked deep inside Karongwe Private Reserve overlooking the Makhutsi River. Each day we’ll be exploring the bush in open safari vehicles with expert local guides and trackers to who will share their wealth of knowledge about the wildlife, native plants, bush skills and local folklore. You’ll be astonished at the vast amount of wildlife we’ll encounter…close up and personal! Lions, giraffe, elephants, monkeys, leopard, wildebeest, and more species too numerous to mention…bring your cameras…and extra memory!
At Chisomo we’ll be staying 3 nights in deluxe safari tented accommodations, much like the explorers of yesteryear. Don’t worry, each tent is a mini-oasis, with full beds, bathrooms and private porches! Like all true safari camps there are no fences, so animals are free to pass through the camp. Each night you’ll fall asleep to the sounds of the African night.
All of your meals at the camps are included, and you’ll find the cuisine superb! Of course all the game drives and walks are included. Your first nights arrival stay in Johannesburg is also included, as are airport transfers and private transfers between the local airport and the camp.
After experiencing the best the bush has to offer, you’ll hop a flight (included) to fabulous Capetown! Here you’ll have a private transfer to your luxurious waterfront accommodations in the center of the happening area. During your 3 days in Capetown, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of its many fascinating and historical neighborhoods, and will explore the nearby Cape Peninsula, with its striking scenery, quaint towns and fascinating fauna.
Or as an alternative for one day, you can cage dive with the notorious Great White sharks of Gansbaai, (no diving experience necessary)! Truly an adventure that not many have experienced!
From the Cape we move to the inland plateau of the Stellenbosch region, famed wine country! You’ll be staying at a luxurious 5 star resort and spa nestled in the rolling hills covered with vineyards. Each day your local guide will lead you to some of the area’s renowned wine estates for tours, tastings, and exquisite meals.
Truly a trip of a lifetime…

Itinerary
Day 1- Johannesburg and the Safari Club
Arrive in Johannesburg. You'll be met at the airport and transferred to the nearby 4-Star Safari Club. Since most flights arrive fairly late in the day, you will overnight here and catch your flight to Hoedspruit airport the next morning.
Day 2- Into the Wilderness...
You'll have an early transfer back to the airport for flight to Hoedspruit. At the airport you'll be met by a private vehicle that will transfer you to Chisomo Safari Camp in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger area. The drive will be around two hours, but should be very interesting, especially as we get out of the city and into the bush. We will arrive at Chisomo in the afternoon, check in and get settled in our rooms. If time permits we may have a night game drive before dinner. All meals are included at the camps.
Day 3- On Safari at Chisomo Camp!
Early morning light breakfast, then a game drive until dawn, when we’ll stop and have a coffee or tea and muffins while we watch the sunrise. By late morning we will return to the camp for an extensive brunch. After brunch we have the option of relaxing at camp, hanging out at the pool, or perhaps doing an optional midday game walk with armed guides and trackers. There are also daily educational seminars after the game walk. A late lunch will give us the energy for the rest of the day’s activities. Late afternoon will find us boarding the 4-wheel drive vehicles again for the evening game drive. At sunset our guides will stop at a scenic location for the traditional Sundowners…sunset drinks as we watch the sun slip below the horizon to signal the beginning of the nocturnal creature time. We’ll return to the camp for pre-dinner drinks at the bar and then tuck into a fantastic African meal. If you have the energy, relaxing under the star-studded southern hemisphere sky is an awesome experience.
Day 4- Chisomo Camp
On Safari! Let’s do it again…
Day 5- Capetown
After breakfast this morning you'll have a private transfer to the local airport for your flight to Capetown (included).
From Hoedspruit we'll board a flight for Capetown. Upon arrival we'll have a guide and transfer waiting to meet us and take us to our 4-Star hotel in the city center. Dinner tonight is on our own, but there are a few special places we might recommend, and Capetown has an endless variety of world-class restaurants.

We'll then take the spectacular cable-car ride up to the top of Table Mountain for an exhilarating view of the Mother City and the surrounding peninsula. For lunch we will probably stop at a fun local place. (Lunch not included). The afternoon will feature a visit to the well-known Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. We suggest a visit to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront, situated in the heart of Capetown's working harbor, offering an abundance of shopping and entertainment.
Day 7 - Cape Point Tour
Today you'll experience one of the most scenic areas on the planet, the iconic landscape of the Cape Peninsula! The Cape stretches from the City center to Cape Point, and encompasses some of the most unique and stunning vistas to be found. We visit Hout Bay a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. Here you have the option to take a boat trip to Seal Island. We carry on over Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve. The reserve is rich in magnificent fynbos vegetation, birdlife, endemic antelope species and zebra, an historic lighthouse and shipwrecks. After lunch at a nearby restaurant we travel on to Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach.
The evening is free to wander and explore.
Day 8- Cape Town to Franschoek
Today we travel to Franschoek in the famed Cape Winelands region. Franschoek is known for its centuries-old vineyards and unique Cape Dutch architecture. Trails wind through flowers and wildlife at Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve to views over Franschhoek Valley. You will visit Uva Mira mountain vineyards with breathtaking views of False Bay and Table Bay. This estate is often wrapped in clouds, blessed with a cool climate, sea breezes, a granite foundation, strong minerality of the soil, and enhanced by acres of fynbos. The wines produced here are exquisite!
Then on to a visit to Waterford wine estate where you will experience olives and wine tasting. Nestled in the picturesque Blaauwklippen Valley, in the world-renowned Stellenbosch region, this 120-hectare property boasts citrus groves, rolling lawns and water features.
Tonight you'll find yourself ensconced in a beautiful 4-Star estate in the heart of the wine country!
Day 9- Somerset West
After breakfast travel to Franschoek where you will check into your hotel. Today we visit the famous Somerset West Winelands, on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains and at the foothills of the Hottentots Holland mountain range.
We'll also be guests of Waterkloof Farm where wines from the False Bay and Peacock Ridge ranges are produced. Here we'll enjoy a cellar tour and cheese tasting. You will then proceed to the well-known Vergelegen wine estate where you will experience wine-tasting and the famous Heritage Tour.
Day 10 - Stellenbosch
After breakfast we'll travel through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Today's route takes you to the most famous places in the Cape winelands with superb wine tastings in Stellenbosch. The first stop today will be the Moreson Estate. The Charcuterie & Wine Tasting is their own twist on novel wine tasting. Enjoy stretching out at the Farm Grocer bar counter while you sample a range of Môreson Wines, each individually paired with Neil Jewell’s mouth-wateringly yummy Charcuteri. You will then visit LaMotte where you will experience a completely different type of food and wine tasting. Babylonstoren will be the final stop which is an historic Cape Dutch farm that boasts one of the best preserved farmyards in the Cape. Beloved for its magnificent garden that is laid out over 8 acres, the garden is divided into 15 sections that comprise fruit, vegetables, and berries of the region.
